When Loved Ones Leave Us
Sitting with the Lord this morning and receiving comfort after returning home from trip with my family for the first time without my love being here. I cried in the car on the way back thinking about him not being here. When I walked in the house my eyes went straight to the location of his hospital bed for the last month before he passed. I still can’t entertain thoughts about the upcoming holidays or my birthday without him. So this morning the Holy Spirit reminded me about all the prayers that have been prayed and are being prayed for me and our family which brought me great comfort. And what provided even greater comfort was His reminder of the prayers that Stephen prayed for me. He reminded me of the many times we prayed together and also of the many times he’d go into his private prayer time and intercede for me. He reminded me that Stephen knew I’d need more strength than ever and he covered me. The Holy Spirit then reminded me that He is my covering since God brought Stephen home. I recalled the verse in scripture that, paraphrased, says…
when loved ones leave us, the Lord will take us up.
So this morning, I’m leaning on Jesus. His everlasting arms are ever ready to hold, shield and cover me. He’s got me and I have Him. He is my Holy Spirit, a personal friend who stays close. “What a fellowship, what a joy divine leaning on the everlasting arms.”
Just sharing my morning musings in hopes it will encourage you to lean on Jesus and enjoy sweet fellowship with our Holy Spirit! He’s got you covered! I’m praying for you!
