Sitting with the Lord earlier this morning on this Palm Sunday and thanking God for Jesus! As I thanked God, the Holy Spirit ministered to my heart,

“See me as your LOVING GOD.”

Right behind that directive I remembered a phrase I recently read that said, “God has never once had a negative thought about you!” See me as your LOVING GOD! God only sees me through the eyes of love because of Jesus. When my honey and I first met, he signed off on all of his notes to me with, “Because of Jesus, Stephen.” In fact after we got married the first car we bought he had a license plate cover engraved with “Because of Jesus.” Familiar verse John 3:16, For God so loved the world (including you/me) that He gave his only begotten Son…ringing in my ear. “See me as your LOVING GOD” bringing such joy and hope to my heart. I wonder what it was like seeing the LOVE of God riding into town on a lowly donkey many years ago. Seeing the LOVE of God on His knees begging the Father to spare Him then ultimately submitting to His will. Seeing the LOVE of God beaten and bruised beyond recognition trudge up Calvary Hill. Seeing the LOVE of God bearing the very cross that he would be crucified on. Seeing the LOVE of God nailed to that Cross. Seeing the LOVE of God bleeding the blood that would cleanse us and make us whole. Seeing the LOVE of God exclaim those final words that would transform the world. “It is finished!” The Holy Spirit ministering these words to me this morning, See me as your LOVING GOD! To which I respond, Lord how could I see you as anything else but LOVE! Lord you see me through your eyes of LOVE and I see you through my eyes of LOVE! You spared my life. You forgave, continue to forgive and restored me. You transformed my life. Thank you for including me at the cross!
