Sitting with the Lord this morning and meditating on His timely goodness! And thanking Him that I am reaping the benefits of Stephen’s kindness to others. I’ve been needing some minor repairs done around the house. I had contractors come look and want to charge astronomical prices to do minor work. I’d just about given up on getting some things done when I reached out to a friend of Stephen’s whom I knew did repair work on the side and who I knew I could trust. He comes over and looks at it and it takes a while for him to come do it but he promised when he had time he would. After 1 1/2 months, he finally had some free time and has come faithfully during his time off to work on my home. When I asked him about the cost, he said for you, Mrs. Powell, I charge you nothing. If you need anything, you call me. I know it is because Stephen was a kind & supportive friend! Tears of gratitude after tears of frustration about navigating through the cares of life as a widow. It’s a difficult journey! Long after our loved one has gone, the adjustment to life without them remains hard!

So when I went to check on his gravesite this week. It wasn’t because I think he’s still there in the ground. I know that he is with Jesus. Quite honestly I prefer not to visit the cemetery. But this time I went to honor him. God chose him for me and my love for him will never die.

I’m reaping the benefits of his kindness.

So as I sit this morning, I’m thanking God for His goodness to me through Stephen and through others! It is good to give thanks to the Lord! There are many things I could worry about as a widow and often do. But for today, I’m not going to worry. I’m going to give thanks to the Lord for His timely goodness! God is good all the time and God is good ON time!

Just sharing my morning musings, I wouldn’t want to be on life’s journey without the Lord. I couldn’t make it without Him. Hope today that you will trust in the goodness of the Lord and trust Him to be on time with your blessings!
